Bruce Dickey,
Our plan to visit Rogers Mt. Grove are working out.  However, it looks like it may be raining Sunday
the 17th.  If so, we will drive over Saturday instead of Sunday.
Whichever day, we will leave Tulsa in time to be there at about noon.  Our trip includes three other
cemeteries after we leave Rogers Mt. Grove;  Stigler, Ok., Starr Cemetery (near Porum, Ok.) and
Westlawn at Henryetta, Ok.
Joy’s mom’s family are all buried at Stigler, Joy’s dad and relatives are at Starr (yes, my sweet little
wife is related to Belle Starr), and all the Rogers on my side of the family are buried at Henryetta.
James Washington Rogers had a son, James John Henry Rogers, he married Amanda Elizabeth
Heath, they had 7 children (5 boys and two girls).  One of the girls, Atha Louise Elizabeth (Rogers)
Boone was my maternal grandmother.  She and all her siblings are buried at Henryetta.  I’m
attaching a Rogers family photo (scanned front and back). Wonder if it was made at the Rogers Mt.
Grove cemetery?

Bruce Dickey,

Appreciate your comments about the photo.  We too were amazed to get it.
The following is to provide validity for the photo -
It was included in a box of family photos that came to us through Jessie Mae Rogers' daughter in
law, Bonnie.  Jessie Mae was the daughter of Jesse Levi Rogers and wife Iona Anderson.  Jesse
was one of the 7 siblings in my grand mothers family (Atha Louise Elizabeth Rogers Boone).  Jessie
Mae was born in 1920 and died just a couple of years ago.  She had a sister, Normal Novella, and
two brothers John Henry Rogers (went by the name "Huck") and Doyle William Rogers.  Jessie
Mae's first husband was Earl Johnston.  They lived in Henryetta and he was involved in Oklahoma
politics in the 40's and 50's. He died in the 60's and later in life she later married Gabe Hunter.
Gabe eventually came down with Alzheimer's and was moved to a nursing home a couple of years
before her death.  Jessie Mae and Earl had one child, a son, Earl II, who was a podiatrist  here in
Tulsa.  He died about 10-15 years ago.  His widow, Bonnie, of Tulsa, passed the family photos on to
us.   Yes, we would be very pleased if you in posting it on your web site could make the photo
available to other family members.  I'm thinking the writing on the reverse side of the photo may be
Jessie Mae's.
It appears, in looking at the weather situation, Sunday may be the best day for us to make the trip.
Also, one of my two sisters has confirmed she would love to accompany us.  Not sure about the
other sister yet.
